“I had this image of a human split in two and thought that this theme of a human, split in two, of the divided human, was an important theme, a theme with a contemporary meaning: everyone somehow feels incomplete, we all manifest a part of ourselves leaving the other part on the side.”
“The Cloven Viscount”
'Shake out the dust' is a representation of the repetitive vibration on the vertical axis. Helping us to dissolve the unnecessary tensions we constantly hold and relax the body, mind and spirit to unlock different ways and direct our attention to the present moment.
Through this shaking we guide our body towards its own musicality, finding its natural rhythm and the internal physical motion. We seek to reveal an honest and authentic body without hesitation. The use of various rhythms and melodies enhance the momentum and help us capture the expanding time within our bodies and imagination.
The inspiration is to find our own personal relationship and interpretation within the class using the full potential of our physicality and performative skills, until finally the dust settles once again.
‘Through the looking glass’ is an extension of the technical class.
Within a playful and explorative environment we use movement, voice, group composition, objects, stories and images as tools of our imagination.
We seek to expose and exchange our worlds, revisit our choices and discover new aspects of our personal landscapes, through the mirror of the people around us.
Professional dancers and students of professional schools are welcome. Open also to experienced practitioners in movement, physicality and performative skills.
All workshops will be interacting with one another during some time of the day.
