(18.8 welcome date / 24.8 departure date)
This workshop is addressed to all musicians, regardless of instrument played or amount of experience, and aims to introduce them to the multiverse of effect pedals, loopers, sound generators with a focus on their live applications. The materials covered will span everything from the widely known distortion, delay, reverb effects or the more unique and “out there” filters, ring modulators and bit crushers!
There will be discussions on topics such as pros and cons of analog and digital effects, playing through laptop software or standalone hardware devices, extensive analysis of loopers as well as live looping and live sampling techniques.
Technical issues will also be addressed such as converting an acoustic to an electric instrument, correct audio and power connections, amplifying the end signal (amps, DIs, mixers etc).
