(25.8 welcome date / 31.8 departure date)
Drawing inspiration from the repertoire of the traditional music of Mediterranean and the Balkans, the workshop practices original contemporaneous arrangements especially for voices. It explores the range of possibilities of the sound of the human voice and the body, including, in addition to singing, speech, melodic harmony, vocal sounds, polyphonic rhythmicity with voice and body, rhythmic narration in dance, etc. By composing the above material, different versions of polyphony are created with the aim of telling a complete musical story with an uneasy plot.
“Nefes” means breath.
The common breath coordinates the ensemble of voices, where each individuality acts and interprets in its own way but always serving the "whole".
The workshop is aimed at singers and actors as well as anyone else involved in the performing arts who has already developed a good relationship with singing.
