This workshop explores the vocal art of beatboxing, extended vocal techniques, and their dynamic connection with acoustic instruments and live electronics. It is aimed at musicians, singers, producers, sound artists, and anyone seeking new paths in sonic experimentation and contemporary performance.
Focusing on the acquisition of vocal percussion techniques, improvisation, and the interaction of the voice with digital and analog media, the workshop aims to transform the human body into a complete, live sonic ensemble.
Workshop themes include:
- Beatbox / vocal percussion techniques (kicks, snares, click rolls, inward/outward bass, vocal sound design) and extended vocal techniques such as throat singing and overtones.
- Breathing, vocal control, and mic technique.
- Improvisation and building musical structures in real-time (live looping) through the interaction of the voice with hardware (loop stations, audio fx, pedals) and synthesizers.
- Combining the voice with acoustic instruments, with an emphasis on aerophones and idiophones (flute, harmonica, didgeridoo, mouth harp).
By combining practical exercises, improvisation, and teamwork, participants will discover new sonic possibilities and ways to integrate vocal percussion, acoustic instruments, and electronics into their own musical compositions and live performances.
