20 March 2024Workshop on Free Vocal Improvisation
Coordination: Savina Yannatou, Guest instructor: Iannis Psallidakos
Duration: 30 hours
Language: English, Greek
25 - 31 August
(25.8 arrival date / 31.8 departure date)
We release the way we use the voice and the way we hear the sounds around us through simple "exercises".
These "exercises" are not technical, but they give rise to the creation of vocal sounds that evolve each participant in a different, personal way.
The melodic and harmonic element of music is not sought at this workshop. Human voice is used as pure, natural sound only.
Musical knowledge is not required to attend.
The workshop is open not only to musicians or singers, but also to actors, teachers, kindergartens, psychologists or anyone interested in exploring the sounds of his voice.
During the afternoon sessions, Iannis Psallidakos, a vocal instructor specialized in overtone singing, will invite us to explore the undertones and harmonics of our voices, cultivating resonance and our spectral hearing through exercises and extended vocal techniques.
