In this workshop, we will form a band with the aim of preparing and developing new material that will culminate in a piece with the working title "Holon," to be presented at a concert. We will explore various methods to incorporate compositional ideas, create arrangements and forms, shape an overall structure, and create open spaces for improvisation. As performers, we will practice navigating between written material and the unknown, refining our roles in the ensemble, and discovering our unique band sound.
Participants are encouraged to bring small pieces, fragments, patterns, or any ideas that could serve as potential material for our piece.
This is a call for musicians from all traditions and with various instrumental backgrounds, including voice and movement, who perceive music without boundaries and are comfortable with improvisation.
