The seminar is addressed to adults who are interested in rebetiko amane and sing or play a musical instrument in order to come into direct contact and understand the musical form of amane, known to the general public through the recordings of pre-war rebetiko. Its form will be analyzed and through an experiential workshop on examples of the said repertoire, its musicological and performative background will be practically studied: melodic modality, lyrical forms, role and use of musical instruments.
The ultimate goal of the seminar is the repositioning of the form of amane at the center of the contemporary artistic creation.
