Language: English, Greek
18 - 24 August
(18.8 arrival date / 24.8 departure date)

Aphrodite Patoulidou’s vocal workshop focuses on vocal freedom, grounded firmly in classical vocal technique and aimed at fostering a conscious movement between musical genres through targeted shifts in breath support, resonance, and timbre, allowing the voice to adapt meaningfully to each particular style.
Special emphasis is placed on intimacy and softness of interpretation, without sacrificing accuracy, projection, or vocal volume. The goal is to cultivate a voice that can express itself securely across different styles and dynamics.
The work is based on bodily awareness and the basic anatomy of phonation, so that technique becomes both understandable and experiential. Play is a central learning tool: through creative experimentation, technique is organically absorbed and transformed into a means of artistic freedom.
The aim is for each participant to develop vocal autonomy and freedom; to be able to tell, through song, the stories that matter to them, with technical awareness and personal responsibility toward their own sound.
The work unfolds through group exploration and individual sessions, within an open environment where everyone is invited to observe, listen, and learn from one another’s vocal journey.
Along with your application, you are kindly asked to submit the repertoire you wish to work on within the framework of the workshop.
The program may be modified later upon consultation.
Suggested preparation:
- 2 arias
- 2 art songs (e.g. Schubert, Fauré, etc.)
- 1 or 2 traditional songs
Music Village administration desk will be accepting applications for Aphrodite’s workshop until August 1st.
Beyond that date applications will be included in a waiting list.
